Vozačka dozvola - Driver's License

I suprug i ja imamo vozacku dozvolu. Dali kod dolaska u Ameriku treba ponovo polagati ili kako ide ta procedura?

Treba, jer vam nasa dozvola tamo nista ne znaci.
Sve zavisi od drzave do drzave i kakva su im pravila.
Mi smo u Kaliforniji, polagala sam prvo testove a zatim voznju.
Cena 28$ i sve zavrsavas na jednom mestu.Popunis formular, oni ti na salteru provere vid, posalju te na drugi gde te slikaju, das otisak prsta i potpises se.
Onda ides da polazes pisani test koji ima 36 pitanja. 30 ti treba za prolaz.
Kad polozis test, dobijes broj na koji zakazujes voznju.Vozis krug po poligonu a zatim ides u saobracaj.Smaraju sa voznjum u rikverc paralelno uz ivicnjak, ali i to prodje.
Sa medjunarodnom dozvolom takodje mozes da vozis ali samo mesec dana.
Dozvola mi je stigla na kucnu adresu za sedam dana.

I u Kaliforniji dozvola vazi 5 godina ali prva koju vam izdaju vazi godinu dana pa vam 60 dana nakon nejnog isteka posalju na kucnu adresu formular da ga popunite i produze vam je jos 4 godine, sto bi ukupno bilo 5. Nakon 5 godina idete ponovo u DMV zbog revizije dozvole.
Sto se tice SSN-a s obzirom da dolazite na ograniceno vreme na kartici socijalnog broja ce vam to i pisati, tako da kad istekne vize ni SSN ne vazi vise.
Osim,naravno, ako en nadjete nacin da legalno ostanete tamo.
A sto se tice medjunarodne dozvole ona u Kaliforniji vazi mesec dana, ne znam zasto je to tako, i ne znam kako je u drugim drzavama.
Mozda da posaljes upit mejlom DMV u drzavi u kojoj ces biti.

што се тиче социјалног броја, видео сам бар 5 картица људи који већ неколико година иду на моју визу и на којима ништа не пише о ограничењу и људи је користе већ 2-3 године за редом без икаквог продужавања или пријављивања сваке наредне године.

Ono sto ja mogu da kazem iz mog iskustva je to da svaki State ima svoja pravila o polaganju, cenama kostanja dozvole i svega drugog. Medjunarodna dozvola moze da se donese, ona vazi odredjeni vremenski period i ukoliko je u roku, kada se dodje da se polaze test, pitaju za nju, tako da ako se pokaze, trebalo bi da se polaze samo test - sto se tice drzave Indiane. Posto ja nisam imala medjunarodnu, prvo sam polagala test - daju learner permit, (kopiju meni na ruke, a original stize preko Department of homelend security, trebalo bi u roku od 60 dana), i to kosta $9! U roku od 60 dana, ja mogu da vezbam voznju i da vozim s vozacem pored mene koji ima dozvolu. Nakon dolaska mog originalnog learner permita, te prolaska vremena od 60 dana, mogu da zakazem voznju. Kad dodjem na voznju, treba da dovezem svoj auto, ili nekoga koga znam, oni nemaju svoj auto (sto je i dobro, jer na onom na kom vezbas voznju, u tom autu posle i polazes), cena je cini mi se oko $19. Isto se daje kopija na ruke, a original stize preko Department of homelend security. Sve se moze naci na sajtu www.dmv.org, te se onda klikne na state koji vas interesuje. Za svaki state postoje neke razlicitosti, a na sajtu imate za svaki state driver manuel, u kome pored pitanja koja su potrebna da se obrade da bi se proslo na testu, te kasnije na voznji, imate i sve informacije vezano za uslove koji su potrebni da se ispune da bi se dobila dozvola...Meni je za Indianu trebalo i da dokazem da zivim ovde, jer sam se prebacila iz Texasa, te su mi trazili da mi je nesto od poste stiglo na adresu i Indiani.

New to the State

If you're new to Indiana, go to any license agency. Bring with you one document that provides proof of residency, and one that provides proof of your Social Security number.
Also, make sure to take one acceptable primary and one secondary document (or two primary documents) from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles list of approved documents. Copies of documentation are not allowed.

If you already have a valid driver's license from your previous state, you will only need to pass the Indiana written and vision tests. If your old license has expired by more than 12 months, or if you never had one, you'll need to pass the driving test, too.

Also, if you're younger than 18, you'll need to have a parent or legal guardian with you to sign the financial responsibility section on the application and have it notarized.
Indiana Residents

All residents need to have a learner's permit before they can try for their first Indiana license. The type of permit you'll need to get depends on your age.

Learner's Permits

Indiana issues two types of learner's permits: the driver education learner permit, and the regular learner permit. Both permits may be obtained at any license agency. No appointment is necessary to get your permit, and the cost for each is $9.
Driver Education Learner's Permit

If you're at least 15 but still younger than 16, and wish to start driving, you'll need to get this type of permit first. You'll also need to take a driving education course.

This permit enables you to take the required state approved driver education course, either through your high school or a private driving school. See our Driver Education section for details.

In order to obtain this permit, you must:

* Be at least 15 years old.

* Pass the vision test.

* Show proof of identity and date of birth from the approved documentation list.

* Prove that you've enrolled in an approved driver education class. You can do this by showing the certificate of driver education form given to you by the school. You cannot do this more than three weeks before the class begins.

Also, everyone younger than 18 needs to have a parent or legal guardian sign the financial responsibility form or section on the application, and have it notarized.

Once you've been given the driver education learner permit and started your class, you may practice your driving―but only with a certified driving instructor sitting next to you. Also, the car must have dual brakes.

Then, after you've successfully completed the course, you can continue to practice your driving skills with a parent, legal guardian, step-parent or other relative who has a valid driver's license, sitting in the passenger seat.

It's important to note that your permit becomes invalid if you do not successfully complete your course. Once you've turned 16, you'll need to apply for a regular learner permit in that case.
Learner's Permit

This permit simply allows you to practice your driving in order to obtain your license. Everyone who is at least 16 needs to get one of these before they can get their first license. You'll need to have your permit for at least 60 days before you may apply for your license.

To qualify, you must:

* Be at least 16.

* Pass both the written and vision tests.

* Show proof of identity and date of birth from the approved documentation list.

Also, if you're younger than 18, you'll need to have a parent or legal guardian sign the financial responsibility form or section on the application, and have it notarized.

If you're younger than 18, having this permit allows you to drive with a parent, legal guardian, step-parent, or other relative who has a valid driver's license, sitting in the passenger seat.

If you're 18 or older, you may drive with anyone who has a valid driver's license sitting next to you.

You should be aware that if your permit expires, you'll need to pass the written and vision tests again and hold your new permit for at least 60 days before applying for your license.
Written Examination

To pass the written exam, you'll need to download the Indiana Driver Manual or pick up a copy at any license agency. The manual contains all the information you'll need to pass the test. You will need the free Adobe Reader to download and read PDF files.

The test is multiple choice, and will quiz you on your knowledge of traffic maneuvers, signs, and laws.
Vision Test

This test simply measures your vision acuity and range of field.
Driver's License Test

To obtain your license, head to any license agency. The driving test is free, but you'll need to make an appointment with the branch to take your road test.

To try for your license, you must:

* Be at least 16 years, 30 days old. (This is only if you've had a valid driver education permit for a minimum of 60 days. Also, you must have successfully completed an approved driving education course).

* Be at least 16 years, 180 days old, and have held a valid learner's permit for at least 60 days).

* Pass the vision test.

* Pass the written test if you haven't already done so.

* Give proof of both your identity and date of birth from the approved documentation list.

* Successfully complete the road skills test (unless you have a waiver, achieved through your driving education course).

Also, if you're younger than 18, a parent or legal guardian will need to sign the financial responsibility form or section of the application in the presence of a notary.

You'll have a total of three chances to pass both the written and driving tests. If you fail the driving test, you'll have to wait at least two weeks before trying again.
Expiration Schedule

If you're between the ages of 18 and 75, your new license will be valid for six years. If you're between 75 and 85, it's good for three years. And, if you're 85 or older, it's good for two years.

On the other end of the spectrum, if you're younger than 18, your license is considered to be probationary, and will expire on your 21st birthday.

"Probationary" means that for the 90-day period after receiving your license, you will need to have a licensed driver who is at least 21 sitting in the passenger seat―if there are other passengers in the car. Also, during this period you must be sure that you and all your passengers are wearing their seat belts when your car is in motion.

After this period is over―and if you are now at least 18―you may go back to any license agency and have the restriction removed. It will cost you $10 to have your license changed.
Fees

The fee you'll pay for your license varies by your age:

* Younger than 18: $14

* 18-74: $21

* 75-85: $11

* 85 and older: $7

Driving Privileges for Non-Citizens

If you're a currently licensed driver from another country and are visiting Indiana, you may legally drive for up to one year in the state. Just be sure to have your license with you whenever you're driving.

You'll also need an International Driving Permit, issued from your home country. The permit basically translates your license to make it understandable to U.S. officials.
Applying for an Indiana License

The application process for non-citizens begins by going through the state's Central Verification Process (CVP) to confirm your immigration eligibility. Contact a license branch to initiate the process.

If your status is deemed acceptable, you'll be given a temporary permit to drive, which you must keep for at least 60 days before applying for your license.

To obtain the license, you'll need to pass the standard driver license vision, written, and road tests. If you're successful in obtaining an Indiana license, you may still keep your foreign-issued license.

Ne znam sta bih ti rekla za to, znam dva momka koja su u Kalifoniju dosla da rade kao spasioci i na njihovim karticama socijalnog broja pise do kad vazi viza (jedan od njih je cak brisao taj broj i sad strepi da li ce ga neko dok vozi kamion slucajno zaustaviti i traziti dokumenta
Jos jednom naglasavam kao sto neko pre mene rece da se ipak sve razlikuje od drzave do drzave.

па у праву си вероватно се разликује од државе до државе.. али колико сам чуо, ту карицу са бројем не мораш да показујеш довољно је да га знаш напамет, ако ти неко тражи.... ма видећу већ када одем... хвала за савете свима....
